5 on Friday!

Here are five more reasons that I am loving Emily this week!

1)  This is what things looked like at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at our house!  Rob has not been feeling very well so it was really no surprise that he was asleep but I was shocked to see Emily zonked out on the chair that early too!

2)  On Wednesday, Rob and I had our parent/teacher conference with Ms. Justice.  Lucky us, we were assigned the 7 a.m. appointment time so we all had to get up earlier than usual and Emily had to sit in the hallway until class began at 7:45!  She did great and the conference was painless!  Ms. Justice had many positive things to say about Emily and how she is right on track with her reading (which was a surprise but I guess the extra work is paying off) and that she is doing very well with math...just needs some work on greater than and less than with the symbols; I still have to make a fish with my hands to remember which sign means greater than or less than so not too bad!  She has some room for improvement on following classroom rules and staying focused but again no huge surprise there!  Ms. Justice told us that Emily is a very funny little girl and that she really enjoys having her in her class this year!  WTG Emily!  (I just found out that WTG means "Way to go!" so I'm trying to be all young and hip and use some texting acronyms, thank you Jenn Beattie Hulehan!)

3)  The karaoke dance party is back in full effect at the Anders house!  When it's too cold and dark outside to play, we find ways to entertain ourselves (and torture Emily)!

The photo of Rob above pretty much leads to the photo below...ALWAYS!!  I bet Emily is reconsidering asking Grandma and Papa for that microphone at Christmas last year!

4)  She had her last soccer practice on Thursday to prepare for her last game on Saturday!  This season flew by but I know that she and Rob really enjoyed their time spent together on the field and in their special training sessions!  This week must have been an extremely tiring practice because these two (or three, since Nubs is in there too) were out again by 8:30!

5)  All of the first grade classes have matching t-shirts for field trips.  Each class is assigned their own color and it has a one (for first grade) and little heads representing each of the kids with the teacher's name printed on it too.  Well Em was so excited because Ms. Justice's class didn't get a "boring" color but they got to tie dye their t-shirts as a special art project!  She'll bring it home on Monday, just in time to wear for her field trip to see Hansel and Gretel on Tuesday!

Bonus - It was nice to see some old "friends" this week..."Max and Ruby!"  Emily loved that show when she was little and this week's library selection was a Max and Ruby book!
