5 on Friday!

Here are the top 5 reasons why I am loving Emily this week!

1)  We fell in love with "Glee" over the holiday weekend!  I thoroughly enjoy the Sue Sylvester character and Emily really likes all of the song and dance routines.  It got even better on Monday when a co-worker gave me four different soundtracks from the show.  Rob and I had a blast singing along to all of the songs...too bad Emily didn't seem to enjoy listening to us sing as much as we enjoyed performing!

2)  She is so excited about Christmas and was a major help decorating the house.  The little tree in her bedroom has a Steelers theme and I love sharing the history of all of the ornaments on our family tree.  Oh, the memories!

3)  On Wednesday, she received her first report card and we couldn't be prouder of her!  She only had a couple of "S's - sometimes meets kindergarten standards" and the majority of those were related to behavior, all others were "C's - consistently meets kindergarten standards".  She is excelling in all of the areas of learning and the best part was Mrs. Simpson's comment - "Emily is a joy to teach!"  It's hard to believe the difference a year can make!  Well, a year and a good teacher!

4)  She definitely is her mother's daughter.  Lately, she has been a real bear in the mornings.  On Tuesday, I loved listening to her "talk" in a high-pitched voice.  Totally made me think about being a little girl and saying "Leave me alone!" in a voice only a dog could hear!

5)  She continues to love making little art projects.  On Thanksgiving, she made a series of posters...the photo below shows Rob holding one of them.  She made a book with words and illustrations on Wednesday and the second photo shows some of her new Christmas decorations.
