The Polar Express

After much anticipation, we made our trip to Bryson City to experience the Polar Express!  We arrived a couple of hours before our scheduled departure time so we walked around the little town and checked out some of the shops.  In the gift shop, we purchased a train conductor's hat and a new ornament commemorating our trip to the Polar Express.

Around 4:30,we got into line and eagerly awaited boarding our train car, the Piedmont.  Once we got into our seats, the chefs brought us hot chocolate in insulated cups which we got to keep and warm chocolate chip cookies. Over the sound system, we listed to the Polar Express story and followed along in Emily's book.  We finally arrived at the North Pole and couldn't have been happier when Santa came on board and even signed Emily's book for her.  What a wonderful day full of family fun and togetherness and a great Christmas memory to treasure for years to come!
