1) Emily attended World Thinking Day on Saturday which was an event for all of the Girl Scout troops in her council. There must have been about 200 girls there teaching one another interesting facts about various countries throughout the world and trading little trinkets which represented those countries. Emily's troop had the country of Turkey and they made little safety pins with beads and an evil eye which is a symbol used throughout Eastern Europe, the middle East and Asia. She really enjoyed the trading and was so excited to teach me all that she learned and show me her little trinkets.
2) Sunday was an absolutely gorgeous almost spring day so we went to a little St. Patrick's Day festival in Baxter. She made two attempts at the rock climbing wall and made it all the way to the top on her second try. Way to go Emily! She had a lot of fun seeing some old friends from PKES and new friends from GHES. I'm always amazed at how many people she knows when we are out and about around town!
3) Monday temps were also fantastic and she was thrilled to get to play outside when we got home with her friends and enjoy some sunshine!
4) She brought some another set of grades this week which were just fantastic! Nothing makes her happier than showing off those 100% marks.
5) She is excited about her first soccer game of the season tomorrow and even happier that the coach is going to let her play midfield and keeper. It pays to be on the coach's good side, I guess!
