Presidents' Day Weekend at the Beach!

After a rough week of Emily being sick off and on, we decided to head down to the beach on Saturday for the long Presidents’ Day weekend.  It was rainy on Saturday (but snowing at home) so we took it easy…did a little shopping and went out for dinner.  On Sunday, we got up and headed over to the indoor Island Playground so Emily could burn off some energy which pretty much ended up being the theme of the day!  We went to the beach to attempt to fly Emily’s new kite which we should have put together before we got there.  After reading the instructions multiple times and trying to keep it from blowing away because the winds were pretty intense, Rob realized that the adhesive tabs were no longer sticky so…no kite!  Luckily, we took a bunch of sand toys with us and Em had a blast digging a super deep hole that she could stand in.  We now know that there is a no leash law for dogs during the winter and she was going crazy with all of the dogs running on the beach.  I wish she would get over her fear because it will more than likely stay her entire life (if she is anything like me).  After the beach, we went to the Moss Creek playground for about an hour and then dinner at our favorite beach restaurant, The Crazy Crab!  What a fun day.  I absolutely love the beach and wish that we lived there but I’m sure it would not be quite as relaxing if it were home.
