1) Every day presents an opportunity to use her imagination and be creative! Here is a cute photo of her playing cowgirl...she was using her jump rope as a lasso and riding her bike as a horse while wearing her cowgirl hat.
2) She had a great time (and the best seat in the house - on her Daddy's shoulders) at her first concert on Saturday evening. We went to see Lady Antebellum and she was groovin' to the music and had a very late night - we got home at 12:30 (Rob and I are shooting for parents of the year)! The weather was perfect and the crowd was very low key so it was an awesome first concert experience. Emily's only complaint was the traffic getting into the parking lot and out of it...can't really blame her, it was insane!
3) Seeing Emily with all of her little friends. She had two birthday parties this past weekend - one at the YMCA water park and the other at the Nature Center. Even though she is typically a little daredevil, she was having no part of touching the lizard, turtle and snake at the Nature Center; although, she loved the pinata! I mean it is something to hit with a bat and it is full of candy - how could you go wrong? Aidan's mom gave each of the children little goody bags to fill up and the sugar addict's was the fullest of them all. It was like she was in a money machine grabbing and stuffing her little bag!
The picture below shows the group learning abut the turtle...it's pretty blurry but it is a good example of how much Emily and her little friend, Ellie B. favor one another. Which one is Emily? The one furthest from the camera.
This photo really showcases her blue teeth from the birthday cake! She loved her blue mouth and kept trying to borrow my compact to check it out.
4) I love listening to her describe things. She is starting to use so much detail and is quite animated when she tells stories. On Wednesday, her school took a field trip to the Carolina Raptor Center and I got a full description - what she saw, who she sat next to on the bus, how long it took to get there, which teachers went with the group, etc. She enjoyed it so much that she was inspired to make this art project of one of the birds she saw there and she drew a picture of a bald eagle for her Daddy (and did an impression of it for me).
5) She's a chip off the old block! It amazes me how much Emily and Rob are alike. Here are some photos of her fixing her bike.
